Adam Brody, who plays a rabbi in Netflix series: 'Count me as someone who wants a free Palestine'

Actor Adam Brody, who plays Rabbi Noah Roklov in the Netflix series "Nobody Wants This," addressed the war between Israel and Hamas in an interview with GQ magazine, claiming it is "genocide" and expressing support for "a free Palestine."

Brody, twice a Golden Globe nominee, gave an interview to GQ ahead of the third season of the series, which will air on Netflix on October 22. According to him, the war between Israel and Hamas did not come up in recent interviews he gave, despite his role as a rabbi in the series. "I talked about it a lot privately. I haven't talked about it much publicly," he said.

"Count me as someone who thinks this is genocide. Count me as someone who wants a free Palestine," Brody said, adding that he hopes another administration can correct some of the policies that contribute to the situation being so dire.

In the series, created by Erin Foster, Brody plays Rabbi Noah Roklov, who begins an unexpected romance with agnostic podcaster Joan Williams, portrayed by Kristen Bell. In the plot, Joan decides to convert.

Brody's comments were published after several of his Hollywood colleagues were among roughly 100 arrested outside the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where they protested the arrival of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday.
