Defense Minister Israel Ben-Gvir said today that of the 6,000 militants who crossed into Israel on Oct. 7 and perpetrated acts of atrocity, 4,000 have been eliminated so far and 2,000 remain, and made clear that the instruction to the IDF is to pursue and eliminate all without limitation.
Defense Minister Israel Ben-Gvir revealed new data today on the scope of eliminations of militants who invaded Israel on Oct. 7. '6,000 militants crossed into Israel on Oct. 7 and perpetrated acts of atrocity. Of those, 4,000 have been eliminated so far and 2,000 remain,' said Ben-Gvir.
According to him, the instruction from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and him to the IDF and all security forces is sharp and clear: beyond the ultimate goal of dismantling Hamas and finishing Gaza, 'to pursue and eliminate all without limitation and in all circumstances, from senior to junior ranks.' 'This is the command of those murdered and killed and this is our duty as a people and state,' he added, 'and we will fulfill it.'
According to reports, last week militant Mohammed Hamad Mohammed Gabain, a commander in Hamas's military wing who was involved in holding nine Israeli hostages in captivity, was eliminated. In September alone, the IDF and Shin Bet eliminated 70 Hamas militants, including three senior battalion commanders. Last Saturday the IDF struck the home of Muhammad al-Aimudi, considered to be Yahya Sinwar's successor in Hamas leadership in Gaza, and official confirmation of his fate has not yet been received.
Meanwhile, Ben-Gvir received the IDF's recommendation and directed implementation of a general closure in the area of Judea and Samaria and closure of Gaza Strip crossings on Monday and Wednesday of the week, on the occasion of the commemoration days marking events of Oct. 7.
