According to Arutz 7's account of a Telegraph report, the BBC acknowledged that vetting a Sunday Morning Live guest fell below its standards, following posts attributed to her attacking Jews and praising the Hamas assault.
The BBC acknowledged a failure in background checks on Bushra Shaikh, who appeared on Sunday Morning Live last month, Arutz 7 reported this morning, citing The Telegraph. The former Apprentice contestant took part in a discussion about wearing the burqa in public.
According to the report, criticism focused on earlier social media posts attributed to Shaikh, including anti-Jewish remarks and praise for the Hamas attack of October 7.
The report further said the BBC told a member of Parliament that its checks had fallen below the expected standards and that changes would be introduced following the case.
