The Southern District Prosecutor's Office filed indictments today at the Beersheba District Court against three Negev residents, including a father and son, who according to investigation findings supplied a gun and ammunition to gunman Ahmad Alukbay, who carried out the shooting at the central station in the city.
In the shooting at the central station in Beersheba on October 6, 2024, Border Police sergeant Shira Haya Suslick, 19, was killed, and other civilians were wounded. The indictments were filed following an investigation by the Shin Bet and the southern district police criminal investigation unit, and the three were arrested during September by undercover Border Police agents under Shin Bet direction based on intelligence.
The defendants are Yahya Alukbay, 26, a resident of Hura, and a father and son, residents of Pazurah Alukbay. The son was a minor at the time of the acts. According to investigation findings, the defendants carried out a transaction to purchase weapons and as part of it supplied the gunman with a gun and ammunition, knowing that he may be interested in carrying out a terror attack.
The investigation also revealed that some of the defendants dealt in the sale of weapons to other parties in the Negev. The indictments ascribe to them violations of trafficking and possessing weapons and ammunition, alongside providing means for carrying out a terror act.
In a joint statement, the Shin Bet and Israel Police said that 'the Shin Bet and Israel Police will continue at all times in activities to thwart terror,' and that they will not stop searching for all those involved and aided terror activities against citizens of the state of Israel.
