Lapid Tried to Block Saar's Appointments and Got a Crushing Reminder of His Past

Opposition Leader Lapid turned to the state attorney demanding to freeze Foreign Minister Saar's appointment of 12 ambassadors, claiming 'creating facts on the ground,' but the Foreign Ministry legal advisor rejected the request and determined that the minister acted according to procedures. In a pointed response, she reminded Lapid that similar appointments took place routinely also during his tenure as prime minister and foreign minister in an election campaign.
