The Epic Israel mountain bike race ended Saturday in Western Galilee with victory for Tomer Caspi and Tomer Salzman. About 500 riders joined the event, which returned north after a break of around three years.
The 11th edition, commemorating Giora Tsachor, lasted four days in the Mateh Asher and Nahariya areas. Caspi and Salzman of Tomer's won the overall standings after completing the three competition stages in a combined 9:52:12.
Organizers said the return was enabled in part by KKL-JNF trail restoration. Participants included wounded Israeli soldiers from Achim LaChaim and young people from Bartali. Luba Bernstein and Helen Mora won the women's category.
