Davidovich refuses top five spot in Eisenkot's list: 'I'm a man of action'

Moshe Davidovich, head of the Mateh Asher regional council and chairman of the Front Line Forum who joined Gadi Eisenkot's Knesset list, rejected an offer to position himself in the top five, making clear he will not be a Knesset member in any way unless he serves as infrastructure minister responsible for the Negev and Galilee.

Moshe Davidovich, head of the Mateh Asher regional council and chairman of the Front Line Forum, 59, a resident of Bustan HaGalil, joined Gadi Eisenkot's Knesset list on September 7 and is positioned at number 40. According to reports, he was offered a spot in the top five, but declined, preferring to serve as dedicated infrastructure minister responsible for the Negev and Galilee, a position overseeing budgets of tens of billions of shekels.

In an interview, Davidovich clarified his stance: 'I will not be a Knesset member in any way or manner.' He said, 'I'm a man of action, and I love to work the ground,' and 'I don't want to be a parliamentarian speaking in committees.'

Davidovich also addressed the situation of border communities in the north. According to him, in border communities such as Arab al-Aramsheh, Adamit and Hanita, some 35 percent of residents lack shelter, the tax benefits promised to front-line residents haven't reached them while other communities received them, and the tourism and agriculture sectors 'took a severe blow.'

According to reports, Davidovich is at odds with the government over resource allocation to the north. He said Forum members met with Eisenkot, Bennett, Liberman and Golan and also approached Netanyahu, 'and his people are weighing whether to meet with us,' while from Smotrich 'we haven't received a meeting date.'
