A UAE source told i24NEWS today (Friday) that leaflets for 'Free Palestine' organizations were found among the Omani pilot's belongings. According to reports, the pilot expressed support for Palestinians multiple times and displayed hostility toward Israel.
Yesterday the Saudis transferred the pilot to the United Arab Emirates for further investigation. Israeli teams are expected to join the investigation next week to try to understand who was behind the attack and if additional attacks were planned.
U.S. President Donald Trump said yesterday that there may be a link between the Omani pilot of the Fly Dubai flight and Iran, and according to reports the matter is still under investigation. 'From what I'm hearing, it looks like the answer is yes. But we're still investigating the matter,' he said.
When asked if the U.S. would respond against Iran if it proved to be behind the attempted aircraft hijacking, Trump replied: 'If that proves to be true, they will be hit with great force. Don't worry.'
