A fire broke out at the historic site near Berchtesgaden, once used by Hitler and now operating as a restaurant. According to reports, a person was arrested on suspicion of involvement; the cause remains unclear.
According to N12, citing the German newspaper Bild, around two hundred firefighters were called to the scene, where terrain made firefighting difficult. No injuries were reported in the morning update.
A motorcyclist was arrested on suspicion of involvement, but his connection to the fire and the motive remain under investigation. The report does not establish that the site was deliberately set on fire or that the suspect was responsible. The building, known as the Eagle's Nest, is also a visitor site presenting its history.
