Iran's parliament approved Mehrdad Akhlaghi as defense minister on Sunday, according to N12 and Reuters. N12 reported that 237 lawmakers voted in favor and 15 against.
Akhlaghi has held senior positions in Iran's missile and aerospace industries. Reuters reported that his program for lawmakers pledged to rebuild military-industrial infrastructure and accelerate defense technology development.
