Chani Leiter, mother of Neria who was seriously wounded in the car-ramming attack on Route 443, told Yisrael HaYom that her son is still sedated, that they have begun to reduce the sedation and that the family is waiting to see how he responds.
Almost a week after the attack, Chani Leiter told Yisrael HaYom that Neria is still sedated and that his brain stem is intact. "The doctors are less worried about life itself, more they don't know how he will wake up," she said. According to her, "they have begun to reduce the sedation and we are waiting to see how he responds," and "in the best case we will begin the long journey of rehabilitation."
When asked how many children she has, Leiter referred to her son Moshe, may he rest in peace, who fell in battle in Beit Hanoun, and to Neria who is fighting for his recovery: "I have eight children. One in heaven, one in between and six others."
According to her, after Moshe's death almost the entire family who had served asked to return to the fighting. Neria fought in Lebanon, and afterwards did guard duty in the reserves beyond what was required, in which a team accompanied the police in activity in the West Bank. According to his mother, he stepped largely into his brother's shoes and became an anchor for the family.
In closing, Leiter asked the public to continue praying for the healing of Neria David, son of Chani.
