The Tekuma Directorate and Energy Ministry launched a NIS 115 million call for energy projects in Tekuma region municipalities. The aim is to generate local revenue and reduce public-sector energy costs.
According to JDN, the program supports revenue-generating projects in renewable energy, energy storage and solutions to strengthen operational continuity. The funding is intended for local authorities in the Tekuma region, rather than direct payments to households.
Initial applications are due by November 4, 2026. Proposals will be evaluated against professional criteria, including financial benefits for the municipality, management readiness, technical feasibility and contribution to renewable energy.
Under the conditions cited in the report, a project granted preliminary approval must reach full commercial operation within 36 months of approval. This is an application and approval process, rather than a set of completed projects.
