Forces of Brigade 228 under Division 210 command completed a three-month mission in the forward security area in Syria, during which they worked to remove threats and prevent terror infrastructure near the Israeli border. According to reports, the forces carried out a series of targeted operations, questioned dozens of suspects and arrested several activists, and detected and destroyed terror infrastructure and numerous weapons, including RPG rockets, mortar bombs and Kalashnikov-type weapons. The activities were aimed at reducing threats facing Israel from Syrian territory, preventing hostile forces from establishing themselves in the area and maintaining security for Golan Heights residents.
According to reports, the forces operated in several locations in the area, conducted sweeps and detected weapons and acted against infrastructure that could be used by terror groups. The combat team of Brigade 228 has completed its fifth reserve round these days, and with the completion of the mission, forces of Brigade 2 will take their place in the area, who will continue operational activity. The IDF said that Division 210 forces will continue to operate in Syria according to situational assessment, with the aim of removing threats and protecting Israeli civilian security, and in particular the residents of the Golan Heights.
