After studying filmmaking, Efrat Shalom Danon left the field to pursue journalism. At 30, she returned to filmmaking after about 15 rejections for her debut feature. In a podcast interview, she discusses the long road, the "chosen ones" and "their own money," and women who reach the top only to find the system still operates on male rules.
