Tiny predator discovered at one of ocean's most extreme points
A research expedition to Tonga Trench in the Pacific Ocean uncovered a new species of tiny predatory crab that lives at depths where even fish can barely survive. Five specimens were collected using robotic research equipment lowered from the seafloor of research vessel RV Dagon, and footage even documented the creature carrying prey in its claws
