Saudi Arabia Announces Return to Normal After Alerts in Six Western Cities
Saudi Arabia issued a reassuring statement and announced a return to normal after alerts were activated overnight in Yanbu, home to Saudi Arabia's central oil port on the Red Sea, as well as in Taif, Jeddah, Abha, Jizan and AlUla. Earlier that night, alerts were activated in Abha and Khamis Mushayt.

Saudi Arabia issued a reassuring statement and announced a return to normal after alerts were activated overnight in six cities in the western kingdom amid escalation in Houthi attacks.
Saudi Arabia issued a reassuring statement after alerts were activated overnight in Yanbu, home to the kingdom's central oil port on the Red Sea, as well as in Taif, Jeddah, Abha, Jizan and AlUla. Earlier that same night, alerts were activated in Abha and Khamis Mushayt, and Saudi civil defense updated that there was no danger in those areas.
The Saudi-led coalition operating in Yemen announced that 13 civilians were killed in Houthi attacks on the Saudi cities of Khamis Mushayt, Abha and Taif yesterday.
According to reports, the Houthi rebels, backed by the Iranian regime, took control last night of additional strategic islands in the south of the Red Sea and thereby strengthened their control of the central maritime shipping lane. According to the Houthis, they also attacked a Saudi air force base in the city of Khamis Mushayt in the southwestern part of the kingdom.
The Houthis and Yemen government forces backed by Saudi Arabia have been fighting since 2014, when the Houthis took control of the capital Sanaa and removed the elected government from it. The fragile ceasefire from 2022 has recently unraveled and both sides have resumed fighting.
