Likud Asked Elections Committee to Disqualify Ra'am on Ground of Hamas Support
In the Likud request, it was argued that Ra'am supports Hamas and negates the existence of Israel as Jewish and democratic. Likud filed with the Central Elections Committee a request to disqualify the Ra'am list on the grounds that it supports the armed struggle of Hamas against Israel, and concurrently requests were submitted to the committee to disqualify Otzma Yehudit and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and three additional candidates.
Likud filed today (Monday) with the Central Elections Committee a request to disqualify the Ra'am list from running in the elections. According to the request, Ra'am supports the armed struggle of Hamas against Israel and negates the existence of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state.
Concurrently, disqualification requests were also submitted to the committee against Otzma Yehudit. The Democratic party requested to disqualify the list on the grounds that it negates the existence of Israel as a democratic state and incites racism.
The organization Beyond filed a request to disqualify National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, Knesset members Limor Son Har Melech and Tali Gottlieb, and Otzma Yehudit candidate Hananael Dorfman. According to the organization, these involve 'incitement to racism and undermining of democracy.'
